HP and Troy Price Increase Effective November 1, 2014

On October 1st, HP raised it’s prices on legacy toner cartridges. Our prices for new HP toner cartridges also went up on October 1st. We will be raising our prices on HP New MICR Toner Cartridges on November 1, 2014. If you have one of these older LaserJet printers, now is a good time to stock up before the prices go up. Luckily legacy toner cartridges are older toner cartridges that are used less and less as the printers near the end of life. That said there are still HP LaserJet 4 printers that have been in operation for 20 years now.

In addition to the HP price increase, our New Troy toner cartridges will also be going up as we start with a New HP toner cartridge to make a Troy New MICR Cartridge. Note Troy brand will remain the same until Troy updates their pricing.

New Product: CF325X New MICR Toner Cartridges

CF325X MICR Toner Cartridge NEW

You now have a choice for MICR toner for your HP LaserJet M806, M830 laser printer. We’ve released our own new CF325X MICR toner cartridge. This is made from a new CF325X MICR toner cartridge and is not remanufactured. Cost per page is 1.34 cents per page at 5% coverage with page yield of 35,000. In our own check printing operation we are getting upwards of 70,000 checks (1 check per page) with lower coverage.

We’ve offered the Troy CF325X MICR toner cartridge for several months with a cost per page of 1.68 cents per age. Our new MICR CF325X offers a better value for a NEW MICR toner cartridge.

The CF325X MICR toner cartridge fits the HP LaserJet M800 series of printers including the M806dn, M806X, M830, M830Z. The 800 series of printers is a direct replacement of the HP LaserJet 9000 series and prints at an impressive 55ppm with the first page out in 8.5 seconds. After the first page you are almost getting one page per second. The LaserJet 800 series of printers also has impressive paper handling capabilities with the optional 3500 sheet tray and 3000 sheet stacker.

Now Selling Genuine Source Technology Brand MICR Toner Cartridges

We’ve offered compatible MICR toner cartridges for a few Source Technologies printers for over 10 years. But the most recent Lexmark printers that Source Technologies uses have a chip that has made it difficult if not impossible to use a remanufactured toner cartridge. * Coverage varies, but our experience is that checks typically have less than 5% coverage. Recently we tested some QuickBooks Voucher Checks and found that they had 1 to 2% coverage. This means that a 1,500 page cartridge could easily last 3,750 pages or more. That said, the toner could last that long, but in many cases HP has engineered the toner cartridge to last only so long. So the drum or other component could fail before the cartridge actually runs of toner. We’ve found that typically HP toner cartridges can print double their page rating assuming they haven’t ran out of toner.

Troy 02-88000-001 CF325X MICR Toner Cartridge

It’s been a while since HP released the CF325X toner cartridge. We’ve been working to develop a quality MICR toner cartridge for the HP M806dn. While some of our competitors have released a substandard MICR cartridges that does not meet ANSI standards, we won’t put out a product unless the quality is there. While we are at the mercy of the MICR toner manufacturers, we are happy to say Troy has released their CF325X MICR Toner cartridge, part # 02-88000-001. We’ve been actively testing the new Troy 02-88000-001 cartridges and it passes muster. We have the Troy CF325X MICR toner cartridges in stock and can ship today. The Troy cartridge also works in any HP M806 or M830 LaserJet printer as well.

The Troy Secure MICR Toner cartridges offers a tamper proof MICR toner and a premium price – $589. Troy cartridges are New MICR toner cartridges, meaning they are not re-manufactured, but actually new, just like our premium line.

We are hoping to have our Advantage Premium CF325X MICR toner cartridges sometime in 2014, but for now buy the Troy MICR CF325X, as it’s the only quality cartridge for the HP LaserJet M806, M830 out there. Our Premium CF325X MICR toner cartridge will likely sell for $499.

New Product: Advantage Brand HP CF214X Toner Cartridge – Save 42%

Advantage Brand HP CF214X Toner Cartridge for HP M700 Series

We’ve just released an Advantage Brand (Remanufactured) CF214X toner cartridge for the HP LaserJet 700 series. This includes the HP LaserJet 700 M712, M712n, M712dn and M712xh laser printers. The Advantage Brand CF214X is rated for 17,500 prints at 5% coverage, the same as it’s Genuine HP counterpart. Our CF214X toner cartridges is designed to deliver the same print quality as a Genuine HP CF214X. At $120 vs. $210 for a new cartridge, the Advantage Brand cartridge offers an excellent value with a 42% savings. We also offer the HP CF214A standard yield toner cartridge – but with it’s higher cost  per page, there is really no reason to buy low yield toner cartridge.

In addition to the traditional CF214X toner cartridge, we also offer a New HP CF214X MICR toner cartridge.  We  have yet to release an Advantage Brand or remanufactured toner cartridge for the CF214X, but that is coming.

HP CF325X MICR Toner for HP M806dn, M806x, M830z in R & D

HP LaserJet M806dn Laser Printer

HP has finally released a replacement for the HP LaserJet 9000, 9050 series printers, the HP M800 Series. The M800 series uses an HP CF325X toner cartridge. The CF325X is very similar to the C8543X (toner cartridge used in HP 9000, 9050) with a few tabs and notches that insures the new cartridge won’t fit in the older series of printer and vice versa. The CF325X is rated for 34,500 prints vs. 30,000 for the C8543X. Our goal is to have a CF325X MICR

toner cartridge for M800 series by mid November. MICR toner for the HP 9000/9050 printer has been popular for high volume environments. In fact when you order our pre-printed checks for QuickBooks, Quicken, Peachtree or any number of othe accounting packages, we print these on an HP 9050 with a C8543X MICR Toner Cartridge. When HP first released the LaserJet 9000 it had it’s share of problems. But since the LaserJet 9050 came out, HP has addressed most of the reliability problems that plagued the HP 9000. We anticipate this to be a great production workhorse for high volume environments in check printing.

HP LasetJet Flow M830z

The new M800 series is basically the 9000 series with a facelift. HP  has added a touch screen, changed paper handling options, changed the color and cranked up the speed from 50ppm to 55ppm. There is no reason to upgrade your older 9000 to a M800 Series unless your 9000 series printer is on it’s last legs. HP has added NFC communication options as well so that you print wirelessly from your smart phone. Probably not a big selling point for such a high volume printer.

M800 Series New Models

• M806dn – Base model with duplexing (2 sided printing) and networking standard. List price $3,399.
• M806x – Take the base model and add a 3,500 sheet input tray and you have the M806x. One major difference between the 9000 series and the M800 series is the new input tray holds 3,500 sheets vs. 2,000. They’ve increased the capacity by creating two drawers that hold letter sized paper vs. one drawer that holds tabloid or 11×17 paper. List price $5,399.
• Flow M830z – The M830z model isn’t just th M806x plus a 3000 sheet stacker/stapler. It also includes complete multifunction capabilities – print, copy, scan, fax. Plus they’ve added a larger touch screen. List price $8,499.
